Founded in 2019 and based in Leipzig (1h from Berlin), this early-stage B2B fund was formerly known as Smart Infrastructure Ventures. Currently in the final stages of closing its new fund (Fund II) at EUR 30M, Fund I achieved a large exit after 2 years, placing it in the top 5% in Europe for its vintage. The fund always seeks a strong tech angle, focusing on IT/software infrastructure, energy, and enterprise software with an AI angle. It aims to be the most active investor on the cap table, taking board seats and remaining active post-investment. Flexible in structure, it can lead, co-lead, or follow. It creates its own SPVs for pro-rata rights and never invests in an SPV as an initial investment, though its LPA is open and flexible regarding Prompt's co-invest model. With ~10 investments last year, the generalist team of ~10 is supported by sector experts who help select and support portfolio companies. Decision-makers hold a high own-money share of ~10%, with corporates and successful entrepreneurs forming the majority LP base. Deal flow is heavily data-driven and mainly outbound from its network (~3,500 deals reviewed last year, with little inbound).
