Kompas VC
Founded in 2021, this industrial tech fund holds approximately EUR 300M in AUM across two funds. Fund II stands at ~EUR 160M and has been actively deploying since January 2025, with a final close expected at the end of 2025. With offices in Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen, it invests from Pre-Seed to Series B, specializing in Seed and Series A across Europe, the US, and Israel (~60/40 Europe vs US+Israel). Deal sourcing occurs via events, Harmonic, conferences, and VC inbound. The firm backs startups increasing productivity and resilience in physical industries, including energy, manufacturing, logistics, critical-infrastructure cybersecurity, robotics, and sustainable materials. It invests in hardware and software (increasingly software-enabled hardware, but open to all software), while remaining opportunistic on exceptional horizontal deals (e.g., Backslash Security). Generic AI/SaaS without an industrial angle will not land.
